Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

For a stunning steakhouse meal, head to Mastro's Steakhouse. This beautiful destination features modern decor, an inviting vibe, and menu staples like prime rib, filet mignon, loaded mashed potatoes, and crispy fried Brussels sprouts. No visit to Mastro's Steakhouse is complete without a slice of the house's special dessert–butter cake—which is a taste of everything decadent and delicious.

For a bit of retail therapy, head to The Oaks shopping mall. With a wide variety of retailers here, including clothing, cosmetics, and jewelry stores, there's a lot to see and explore if you’re seeking the latest trends. You'll also enjoy plenty of dining options and a movie theater if you want to stay and catch the latest big-screen adventure.

Things to Do

With more than 150 miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails, Thousand Oaks sees no shortage of outdoor adventure. In addition, over 34% of the city is designated as open space, a natural area of gorgeous foothills, woodland, and wildlife. Popular trails in the area include Paradise Falls, Wildwood Park Lizard Trail, the Los Padres Trail, and Vista Loop.

The Grant R. Brimhall Library is a go-to spot for a good book and fun festivities, from D.I.Y. snowglobe making to 3D printing classes, “crafternoons,” teen art shows, and much more. The stages at the Civic Arts Plaza are a hotspot for anyone who appreciates art and culture. Since 1994, this performing arts center has held an array of exciting concerts and live events for residents to enjoy, from Broadway musicals to symphonies.

The Amgen Tour of California is a highly-anticipated community event that is one of the most widely-recognized cycling excursions in California.
